Third party spatial data

The Birdata maps incorporate 1:250,000 scale topographic data that is © Commonwealth of Australia (Geoscience Australia) 2005.

1:25,000 scale data has been provided by:

Reserves (land) and reserves (marine) spatial layers are used under licence from the 2004 version of the Collaborative Australian Protected Areas Database (CAPAD). The bioregions map layer is used under licence from version 6.1 of the Interim Biogeographic Regionalisation of Australia (IBRA).

Third party spatial data has been used in Birdata maps with the permission of the data owners. The data owners listed above give no warranty regarding its accuracy, completeness, currency or suitability for any particular purpose.

Atlas data collected between 1998 and 2002 was part of a project funded by the Australian Government's Natural Heritage Trust.

 

Infrastructure

Birdata is a sophisticated web application incorporating the Atlas database and a web based geographic information system. This application is developed and maintained by Graeme and James Watmuff of Geographic Web Solutions in Adelaide, Australia.

 

Third party textual data

The Birdata location search facility includes gazeteer data provided by the State Governments of Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory. School locations were provided by the State Governments of Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
